As an initial step, VMMI is serving as an online think tank with links, articles, and thoughts concerning New Media, Knowledge Organisation and Cultural Computing. The links are available in the New Media database. The Thoughts are effectively preprints discussions of problems.

The main efforts of VMMI are focused on New Models of Culture. This database explores links between individual letters of alphabets in different cultures and how these are linked with visual images and symbols: e.g. how the letter T, which was once the last letter of the alphabet become linked with the vowels a and u to create Tau, then a Tau Cross, Taurus (Bull, Ox), which becomes opposed to Centaur.
