2 Pillars

In India there is the idea of three pillars or columns with a central spine (shushumnah) and two energy channels (nadis). These two energy channels, two pillars or two columns are typically represented as two intersecting serpents, Ida and Pingala, which becomes one of the starting points for the image of the caduceus (cf. cervicapra)

In the Hebrew tradition the two pillars which become placed at the entrance to the Temple of Solomon are named Jachin and Boaz and acquire a series of assocations.
