Kuvera

Kuvera is one of the 4 guardians, is the god of wealth, linked with the North. The god of wealth provided Vishnu with money to marry Parvati. He is a brother of Ravana is the God of wealth and the Lord of Uttaradisha. He is one of the Ashta-Dikpalas, representing the north. He is also known as Dhanapati (Lord of Riches). Kubera is the trustee of all wealth and food grains, whereas creation of wealth and bestowal belongs to Lakshmi. Kubera is the son of Visrava and is the grandson of Brahma, the Creator, and is known by the patronymic, Vaisravana. He is the Lord of Yakshas, devotee of Lord Shiva and is known as the best among Yakshas. Quoted from website Kuber Darshan He was king of Lanka (Ceylon) and had a pushkara which Ravana took. Kuvera then moved to Alaka, also called Alakapuri, a mythical city in the Himalayas, where he lives with the Yakshas. Kuvera (or Kubera) is also called Yaksa (Yaksha), which is sometimes also the name of the wife of Kuvera.
