In Botany, the Tulasi or Tulsi plant is the sacred Basil plant, revered for its medicinal and spiritual value. It is also called ocimum. Etymologically,Tulsi means matchless, Symbolically Tulsi is said to be the Goddess Lakshmi and is particularly sacred to Vishnu as the Bilva is sacred to Shiva.
