G is the seventh letter in the Englsh alphabet. In Greek G is Gamma as Γγ. In terms of our story of the seven days of the week this corresponds to Friday (Virgo). The hook in the G indicates that the cycle has doubled back as we move from Friday (Virgo) back to Saturday (Capricorn) to start a new cycle. Being at the end of a cycle we find a number of alternative treatments of the same idea. In Latin the seventh letter is Z as in Zeus, which is puzzling until we realize that this recapitulates the positions of days 2,3,4,5,6 (Pisces, Aries, Gemini, Sagittarius and Virgo in the Zodiac Square). In the Greek alphabet where Zeus was an official name this letter occurs for day 6. In Greek, the seventh letter is H which is also the symbol for Gemini. Here the reckoning has shifted from days of the week to months of the year. In the old reckoning, e.g. the Celticv calendar, the year ends with 31 October and the new year begins with Sagittarius (month 1) and continues Capricorn (2); Aquarius (3), Pisces (4), Aries (5), Taurus (6) and Gemini (7). In Hieroglyphs G is linked with a Jar Stand.
