Pulastya pulastya m. N. of an ancient Rishi (one of the mind-born sons of Brahma ; also enumerated among the Praja-patis and seven sages , and described as a lawgiver) AV. Paris3. Pravar. Mn. MBh. &c. (IW. 517 n. 1) N. of Siva {-siddhAnta} m. {-smRti} f. {-tyASTaka} n. N. of wks. Vasistha or Pulastya Ueros (Overly) pulastya’s son was vishravas ailavila, and his son was kubera vaishravaNa. And pulastya’s descendants (including rAvaNa, kumbhakarNa, vibhISaNa, and shUrpaNakhA) were rAkshasA, vAnaraA, kinnarA, and yakshA. pulaha’s offspring were kimpuruSA and pishacA.
