1897-1946: Analog Media

Analog Electronic Media (1897-1946). The discovery of the electron in 1897 transformed the age of electric media into an age of analog electronic media which lasted almost exactly a half century. This period saw a continuation of the phono- and photo- prefixes and a developement of the the tele- prefixes. The discovery of the atom and the electron led to a new level of study at the atomic level (c. 10 x -10 = 1 Angstrom).
