Befana (Epiphania) ... (Sicily) Epiphania is based on the root, phanes meaning to bring forth into the light, cause to shine, to show and is used by Homer on down. The addition of the preposition, epi, gives it an intensive meaning and is used of the first coming of Christ to the earth in His incarnation, e.g., Luk 1:79; II Tim 1:10, and two instances are found where it refers to the Rapture of His church. Sound exegesis would seem to classify use of the word in I Tim 6:14; II Tim 4:8 as references to the Rapture of the Church. Two instances of the word make reference to His Second Coming, e.g., II Tim 4:1; Tit 2:13. http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1753767/posts
