Lopamudra is named after a girl who was made out of the most beautiful parts of animals: the eyes of a deer, the gait of a lion. Lopa = loss (sustained by the animals.) Mudra = seal, stamp, finger position. Agastya Muni put together the quintessence of all living beings and created the most beautiful girl and called her Lopamudra, whom he gave to King of Vidarbha as daughter, though the latter did penance for a son. http://www.bhagavadgitausa.com/TANTRA.htm
