11th Hour

11th Hour 11th hour is often assumed to refer to the time of need when the treaty at the ned of World War I was signed on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month: Remembrance Day. In the West, there is a second use realting to the beginning of carnival on 11 11 11 11 q.v. In the East, in China, there is a third use with respect to the numbering of hours, whereby the first set of double hours of the new day begins at 11 pm of the old/previous day.
