Hagal Crystal

Hagal Crystal is effectively 1 Isometric Cube, which can readily be doubled to create 2 Isometric Cubes. Cf. 9 Stave Matrix. The Hagal Crystal has multiple names including Perun Stone, Perun Star, cf. Perun Symbolism.

Sometimes the Cube is inscribed in a circle and called Hagalaz:

The isometric Hagal cube introduces ambiguities between 2-D and 3-D views and also between visible and invisible parts/surfaces. These became a starting point for philosophical and theological symbolism.

For instance, in the Adalruna, a Hagal Crystal called a "Falling Stone" has 3 of its 6 surfaces visible on which are projected 3 x 5 = 15 Runes.

This principle can be extended to a metacube of 3 x 3 x 3 = 27 Cubes where we see:

Visible Cubes                           Invisible Cubes
19                                                8

Or the principle can be extended to 4 x 4 x 4 = 64 cubes or dots where we see:

Visible Cubes                           Invisible Cubes
37                                                27
