Migrations in the 16th and 17th centuries created important settlements of Jews from Persia, Afghanistan and Characin (Central Asia) in northern India and Kashmir.
 
The Keerqin were one of the biggest and most powerful tribes of the Mongols. With the Keerqin alliance, the Kharacin(Yungshyiebu or Uriangkha), the Tumaat, Sonid, Chahar, and Ordos followed.
